The Queen's University Terry Fox Foundation Training Program in Trans-disciplinary Cancer Research has highlighted five themes designed to draw optimally on the diverse strengths and perspectives of investigators and resources provided by the Queen's Cancer Research Institute (QCRI) which address areas in which there is a significant lack of trainees/investigators in Canada. These include:
- Cancer Genetics and Molecular Diagnostics
- Cancer Progression and Intervention
- Cancer Treatment and Service Delivery
- Drug Development and Experimental Therapeutics
- Molecular Epidemiology
Each of these themes reflects the interests and research expertise of mentors in the QCRI, and thus provides great opportunities for exploring transdisciplinary research within the Institute.
