Profile
Sunil Patel is a Colon and Rectum Surgeon at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and is on faculty in the Department of Surgery at Queen’s University. Dr. Patel completed medical school and general surgery residency at Western University in London, Ontario. During this time, he also completed a degree in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in London, UK. Dr. Patel completed Colon and Rectum surgery fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, NY. Dr. Patel’s clinical practice includes treating benign and malignant diseases of the Colon and Rectum, with a focus on Minimally Invasive Surgery. Dr. Patel’s research focus is in both population based cancer research, assessing the barriers to and effectiveness of cancer treatments on patients with cancers of the colon, rectum and anus. Dr. Patel has been a research supervisor for medical students, residents and graduate students.
